The company of biologists (Journal of Experimental Biology) organized the symposium “Integrating Biomechanics & Ecology” in Madingley Hall, Cambridge, UK.
Ellen’s first paper appeared in the American Naturalist!
Self-organization of mudflat ecosystems, yes diatoms do the job, despite of being very small. Granted, their is a bit of physics involved.
